I finished my hat. It was delicious.
I went to the Moma on Friday (free night!). It was decently crowded and socially awkward me kept on bumping into people.
I only saw 10/45 minutes, but loved the “Ballad of Sexual Dependance” by Nan Goldin.
Funny (to me) interview with her:
Q:What is the relation between the diary you write and the pictures you take?
A:Nothing. My diary is really boring.

Lotionate!
For the past month or two, Music hasn’t been a big part of my life. I’ve listened to music less, and it doesn’t connect with me as strongly anymore. Now this is most definitely because I need new music (suggestions anybody?). via But wouldn’t it be interesting if society as a whole experienced some sort of ‘over saturation’, and music didn’t so widely...

Do I really want to major in Computer Science? Maybe, but thinking about it made me all cynical and doubtful. What if this is another dot com bubble? I’m not being (too) paranoid…Business Week played with the idea last year. By the time I graduate, things will be so different. For now, I just need to stop the anxiety.

I have yet another "home" online →
storytlr is like friend feed, but prettier. and you can organize “stories” about an event using all your “web 2.0” sites as sources. interesting. but probably just another site i’ll never go to again. oh and i thought it interesting that sites don’t need your password anymore, just username to import. Makes sense, but I’ve had to hand over my pw in...

Suggested feature for Etsy
On etsy, sellers can create ‘profiles’ for different shipping options. For example, I can create a standard “Prints” shipping profile to use for all the prints I hope to sell. This works great and saves time. So why not make a ‘profile’ for tags also? Most Etsy sellers list many items over and over again. If I am listing 5 scarves in different patterns, I...

how would a shirt with a giant dot on the front and a giant dot on the back look? the only hard thing would be cutting out a perfect circle that big. especially if it’s in cloth seeing as i don’t have a compass (that opens that big). maybe i could trace an oil drum.

just a thought: Is cost a factor in the prominence of knitting over crochet? Because crochet uses more yarn and mostly older women, with less income? would knit, Personally, I enjoy crocheting more cause there’s much more flexibility and variety of stitches. and it only uses one hook! lol. good for me.

In an attempt to motivate myself: speed is of the essence. if you see a trend, jump on it! At present, I’m not too concerned with building anything long lasting. I’m fine with being a trend. It’s a good base.
I just started reading changeThis, the post about criticism=publicity. It reminded me of another theme, be generous.
Sounds simple but sort of hard in implementation.
To be generous with ideas and products you’ve worked so hard on and then just give them away for free! (or something like that) Does this also work in other areas? Like in service industries or like customer service?

every now and then, themes jump out to me from everywhere.
Recently, I’ve been noticing different sources reiterate that one can’t always seek a middle way or a compromise, that one must have a definite opinion. Just choose one side and stick wholly with it. Ugh, very hard for me. Choosing sides always seems so theatrical to me because there are always exceptions and conditions....

the sky is falling
wow, check out the crazy 56 Leonard that’s being built! watch the video if you dare, although frankly, it frightens me and turns me off of the building even more! the site takes mucho tiempo to load and the building……..sigh. It is sort of cool, albeit creepy, that the rooms are mostly windows and you get uninterrupted views cause it’s the tallest and most...
Is creativity an asset that can be quantified?
Can it be taught or improved?
I think you can work on methods that promote creativity and different problem solving. the thought that some are ‘destined’ to be creative is just too depressing. I think that we may start out differently creative, but can train ourselves to have a better creative method.
Anyways, that’s what I...
